The year seems to be racing forward with no signs of stopping at the moment! We’ve had a fantastic month - celebrated our second Postcard, received heaps of questions from readers, learnt more about Church Music and music technology, and started sharing our updates on Instagram! (You can follow us @rehearsal_magazine, or get our attention by hash tagging #myrehearsalroom)
This month though, is a huge one. This week we are launching our 2016 crowdfunding campaign, hosted by Pozible. By making our target of $5000, we will be able to host several large projects, including the production of a music business e-book, and supplementary classes, as well as producing a video in collaboration with the Australia and New Zealand College of Organists to help promote organ playing within the Southern hemisphere. Our launch party will be on the 23rd of April, 2016, and we will be sharing all the planning and exciting details on Facebook and Instagram. Be sure to keep an eye out! If you’re keen to come, and meet industry professionals, as well as our mentors, we will be selling student tickets in the weeks leading up to the night. Email us if you want to reserve a space now! Our Pozible campaign will be live by the middle of the week, and we will remind you about that! If you love what you’ve read so far, consider donating or sharing our campaign, so we can continue providing you with up-to-date, honest resources.
We’ll also be looking for student string quartets to perform live for a room full of musicians and agents. If this sounds like something you’d be interested in, please don’t hesitate to get in touch! We have the capacity for around four ensembles, so register your interest now by contacting Ellie at firstname.lastname@example.org.
In other news, we will be travelling to Japan this month for our Postcard series, and interviewing a series of pianists about their careers, their favourite things to play, and the importance of being a “folio musician”. As always, we’re accepting your stories for Your Rehearsal Room, and answering your questions. This could be your month! We can’t wait to hear from you!
Until next time, have a wonderful month!
